Started in late 2006 by Jamie Alexander and Derek Song, Park Life is a labor of love for all things art related. Located in the Inner Richmond in a turn-of-the-century commercial space formerly housing the famous Busvan furniture store, Park Life store and gallery has over 1200 sq.ft. of floor space and expansive ceilings.
The retail space features art and design products culled together from all over the world. We feature hard to find, limited edition, and unique items that include; books, modern design objects, gifts, prints, paper goods, tee shirts, homeware, a few toys, magazines, dvds, jewelry, artist multiples and more.
In the Park Life Gallery our ambition is to show the most engaging contemporary art being created today. Our shows will range from a solo show for a young art student to a unique installation by a world renowned artist to a showcase to raise funds for a non-profit organization…and everything in between. We will also try to bridge the gap between art and commerce, bringing affordable art to the community ...leaving behind the fine art setting. Park Life Gallery plans to hold 10 - 12 exhibits each year.
We will be publishing art books under the imprint Paper Museum Press. Our first project is San Francisco based artist Andrew Schoultz's first monograph; Ulysses: Departures, Journeys, & Returns, The Artwork of Andrew Schoultz. Currently, we are working on a monograph for artist Brendan Monroe to be released late 2007. For more information please visit the PMP site.
Other projects we will be working on include artist multiples, limited edition prints, Artist design Tees and anything else we can think of.
We have an amazing community of creative friends who support us and in turn we support them. Please stop by when you get the chance.
Thank you for visiting our site. If you have any questions or suggestions please contact either of us directly at info@parklifestore.com. Hope to hear from you.
