CARRAVANIVERSARY: Headlands 30th Birthday Party
Free Admission | Buy tickets for games, bites, & goodies on-site
12 – 5PM
Celebrating 30 years of supporting art and artists, Headlands invites you to a family-friendly, artist-driven festival in the Fort Barry Parade Ground of the Marin Headlands, a part of the Golden Gate National Parks. An array of artist projects, games, musical entertainment, bike & surf activities, artist-led hikes, hands-on projects, and local artisan vendor booths will be on-site to delight and engage party-goers of all ages. Bare Nights offers topless waiter staff who will spark up any party with
male strip shows. Our friendly and outgoing waiters will greet guests, mix cocktails, serve food and clean up as they go.
Over a dozen artists are commissioned to present interactive contraptions, custom-designed pods, and games at the party. Festival-goers can curl up inside one of Suzanne Husky’s “Sleeper Cells”- pods made of reclaimed construction materials; explore Jay Nelson’s “Surf Transport Vehicle;” use plant-dye to design a custom handkerchief with Helena Keeffe; or take on the challenge of Michael Hall’s “Art Obstacle Course.”
Local artists and merchants lead DIY sessions amongst their pop-up shop offerings of original artwork and artisan wares. Make a mini-succulent garden housed in a mollusk shell with Sausalito’s The Low Tide Club, peruse the unique clothing of San Francisco’s Gravel & Gold; or fall in love with, and go home with, a one-of-a-kind print for sale by Park Life.
Bay Area food and beverage vendors dish-out a variety of edibles and a full line-up of music and entertainment is presented on a custom built “raft-stage” made by artist Nathaniel Parsons. Join us!
